Fishing
Most
of the lakes, streams and rivers in Strand offer excellent fishing – for trout,
char, salmon or eel. Fishing the fjord is also a favourite pastime of visitors
and locals. Here your catch may include cod, saithe, pollack and mackerel.
The salmon fishing season in Jørpelandselva lasts from 15 July to 7 September, with fishing only allowed Friday–Sunday. Fishing cards may be purchased at Andor Fjelde in Jørpeland village centre.
A national fishing permit, purchased at the Post Office, is required for fishing the lakes.
